Featuring Jim and Nancy Petro

Former Ohio Attorney General and Chancellor of Education Co-authors of the book False Justice on wrongful convictions

Hear how their journey of awareness has led them to politically conservative reasons against the death penalty!

Working with the Innocence Project, the Petros will discuss the key contributing factors leading to wrongful conviction, myths that fuel criminal justice error, and greatly needed reforms — all explored in their recent book False Justice.

Jim was Ohio’s first attorney general to intervene in an innocence case, leading to exoneration of murder after DNA proved innocence. Jim later became a pro bono lawyer for the Ohio Innocence Project.

Nancy, a writer, and Jim have since collaborated on written advocacy and in public programs relating to wrongful conviction and criminal justice reform. They serve on the boards of the National Registry of Exonerations and Ohioans to Stop Executions.
