I wanted to send you a quick note to remind you about the Witness to Innocence events taking place this weekend in Cleveland:
Friday, October 9th – Press Conference
10 am at Trinity Cathedral in Cleveland
Exonerees including Ricky Jackson, Kwame Ajamu, Wiley Bridgeman, Joe D’Ambrosio, Anthony Raye Hinton, Dewayne Brown, and Debra Milke amongst dozens of others will speak out against the death penalty at a press conference at Trinity Cathedral.
Saturday, October 10th – Witness to Innocence Conference
9 am at St. Clarence Church in North Olmsted
As part of the world-wide events taking place on World Day Against the Death Penalty, WTI and OTSE will host a public day-long conference featuring workshops and speeches on some of the most pressing issues facing the death penalty. Speakers include: Richard Glossip lethal injection case Attorney Dale Baich, innocence expert Professor Mike Radelet, murder victim family member Sam Reese Sheppard, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Nancy Margeret Russo, World Coalition Against the Death Penalty President Elizabeth Zitrin, Constitution Project President Virginia Sloan, and (M*A*S*H) actor and Death Penalty Focus President Mike Farrell.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the state of the death penalty in America from exonerated death row survivors and their family, as well as leaders from organizations across the country. You don’t want to miss this!
